'Tis the season to wear flannels-
Fa lalalala la la la la
Hibernate and surf the channels-
Fa lalalala la la la la
Ice and snow and freezing rain-
Fa lala lalala la la la
Wanna hop a south-bound train-
Fa lalalala la la la la
Turkey day has come upon us-
Fa lalalala la la la la
Basting in their oven saunas-
Fa lalalala la la la la
Praise the Lord and pass the dressing-
Fa lala lalala la la la
Thanks for friends who are a blessing-
Fa lalalala la la la la
Fa lalalala la la la la!
Happy Thanks-Giving to each and all.

And a happy day to you, so pleased and thankful to see your return!
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving, m'Lord!
ReplyDeleteI suspect that you'll be feeding, with grace, aplomb and generosity, a legion today.
72 F degrees here this morning at 7:00AM. We'll be boiling a turkey in oil later. That women will be doing her thing and I will pork up as usual.
ReplyDeleteI work all year in getting weight off and she wrecks it in a day.
our Thanksgiving has gone by a month ago, but it's lovely to celebrate again through our friends to the south... Feast while you can...
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your lyrics...
It's odd.....it's the time of year when things are supposed to begin to slow down--at least this far north--and the pace of my life has been steadily increasing. I had no idea that nearly a month had passed since my last post. I have a bevy of craft shows and fairs to sell my wares at and it's been a great success. The 'bundling' season is in full swing and very rewarding--even preoccupying. But when I go to y'all's posts and realize how much there is to catch up on I have a rather startling realization of how long I've been away. I don't always leave comments but I read every one of them. I have the most interesting blogmates!
ReplyDeleteVon: Thank you--so far, so good.
June: My mother says that I've become the 'star attraction' with an equal amount of pride and resentment in her voice. There'll be a crowd and she'll love holding court. It's all traditional with a bit of Texas touches.
Oldfool: It must be difficult for SWMBO to hold a fork in one hand and a gun to your head in the other. Imagine the abject cruelty of forcing you to 'pork up'. LOL You're an attractive Oldfool and a full fool is a happy fool. Oink away!
Gwen: Thank you, Dear. There were several versions but I settled on those. I'm still working on the 12 days of Thanksgiving but can't seem to find a rhyme for Maalox.
Very jolly, your lordship.
ReplyDeleteWell, after all, 'Tis the season.....
ReplyDeleteMy posts have been infrequent and lame. Been way too busy trying to get our school together. ;-) Miss you xox
ReplyDeleteInfrequent? Yes, indeed-and sadly so. Lame? My dear, that is a word that can NEVER be attached to anything associated with you. Bettering your lot in life through academia while working a full schedule AND being a fantastic wife and friend is hardly lame. It is commendable and inspiring. Bully for you!
